This week’s round-up of the best new Irish music sees the trend of Irish acts collaborating with prestigious international acts continue at apace. Derry’s finest Soak, hooks up with dance music’s biggest star Fred Again for ‘Just Stand There’, while Fontaines D.C.’s Grian Chatten hooks up with indie darlings Hinds for ‘Stranger’ and Dermot Kennedy joins modern alt-folk heavyweight Bear’s Den forĀ  ‘Above The Clouds of Pompeii’. Meanwhile, Jazzy continues to make inroads into the global dance scene this time collaborating with Alok on ‘The Heat’.

This week’s big album releases come from NI’s His Father’s Voice who deliver their debut album ‘Black Poison Morning’, John Blek tells us all to ‘Cheer Up’ and post-rock legends God is An Astronaut return with ‘Embers’. There’s also new EPs from pop stalwarts The Coronas, experimental electro artist Spooklet and rapper Jehnova.

This week’s coverstars are Martina and The Moons who have delivered ‘Dixon Avenue’ the kooky follow-up to their debut single ‘Omnibus Boners’. At the other end of the spectrum it’s great to see The Devlins back with another single ‘Slipping Through Your Hands’ and the main prune himself Gavin Friday returning with the experimental ‘Ecce Homo’.

Fresh from a string of impressive collaborations and remixes it’s great to see Yune Pinku releasing her own music again with the second of two singles in quick succession ‘Half Life’, It’s also nice to see electro artist Bantum back with his first new music in a year ‘Bamboo’ which hints at a fine album to follow. And speaking of albums HousePlants aka Paul Noonan and Daithi have previewed their forthcoming second album with ‘Someone Throws a Brick’, Ynyang, meanwhile proves that she’s good in general on ‘Not Bad For a Woman’.

Premiere Irish folk artist Maria Kelly returns with ‘Slump’ while up-and-coming songwriter Annika Kilkenny continues to impress with ‘It’s Shaped You’. There’s debut singles from Jonathan Baxter (SwanS), Goth Fight Cage (I’m Going Out) while hotly tipped act Adore return with the grungy ‘Supermom!’

There’s also new tracks from the likes of Bricknasty, Amble, Namara, Bex, Kyla Belle, Lauren Ann, Still Searching, Gavin Fox Susi Pagel, Padraig Jack, Pinhole, Ryan Mack and more besides.
