The Cult’s Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy are set to celebrate 40 years of musical creation together with a one-off tour celebrating their post-punk origins. Death Cult the pairs first iteration will play 12 shows including dates in Dublin and Belfast.

Best known for 80s hits such as ‘She Sells Sanctuary’ and ‘Rain’, Ian Astbury first released music as The Southern Death Cult, before forming Death Cult with Billy Duffy in 1983, finally settling on the name The Cult in 1984.

These special Death Cult shows will centre around their eponymous EPs, as well as dipping into all 3 phases of the group from Southern Death Cult, to Death Cult, and The Cult’s first two albums: Dreamtime (1984) and Love (1985).
