Nealo’s Irish Hip Hop Against Homelessness gig has been added to the official St. Patrick’s Day Festival programme. The event, brings together the best Irish hip hop has to offer under one roof at The Sugar Club on March 16th with all proceeds going to Inner City Helping Homeless (ICHH).

“Putting on this gig is a reaction to the unacceptable amount of homeless people in Ireland. The number of people accessing emergency accommodation increased in January, bringing the number to over 10,000.” says Nealo. “It’s horrible to walk past people on the street and feel powerless to help them – and it’s getting worse. I just wanted to do something to help and I feel like everyone else involved did too. That’s why it was so easy to put the artists together for it – every single person that I asked said yes.”

Irish Hip Hop Against Homelessness gig follows this week’s rock equivalent in the Olympia Theatre and it’s really positive to see Irish musicians coalescing in harmony around one the nation’s most serious issues.

The line-up features 3 Plec Pick 2020 acts Shiv, Celaviedmai and curator Nealo and former Plec Picks acts Jafaris, JYellowL, Erica Cody other acts appearing are Why Axis, Dubzeno, Rebel Phoenix, Malaki, Aaron J, Nonzus Magnus, Fynch, Jehnova, Local Boy, C.O.B., Sick Nanley plus more TBA.
