LionelArthur Kell Quartet

Friday March 22nd will see bassist and composer Arthur Kell teaming up with top class improvising musicians alto saxophonist Loren Stillman, guitarist Brad Shepik, drummer Mark Ferber, to bring the quartet to JJ Smyth’s, Aungier Street. A captivating quartet, their performances vary from infectious and energetic movements, to moody and mysterious pieces. Tickets for this event are priced at €14/10, and will be available to purchase at the door on the night.

Peter Brötzmann & Paal Nilssen-Love

Saturday April 6th will see Peter Brötzmann & Paal Nilssen-Love arrive into the Kevin Barry room of the National Concert Hall. Making his first appearance in Ireland at the age of 72, free jazz musician, and tenor saxophonist Peter Brötzmann shows no signs of slowing down. Joined on the night by more seasoned visitor to Irish soils, Nilssen-Love, a night of fine jazz music is guaranteed. Lionel Loueke (PROGRESSIONS Guitar Series)

Progressions Guitar Series will this year bring the West African jazz guitarist Lionel Loueke to the Workman’s Club on Sunday April 21st. Loueke combines the chromatic, melodic aspect of jazz with deep, African grooves, accompanying himself with a combination of scat and African click language. Tickets for this event are priced at €15/12, and can  be purchased on entertainment.ie.
