It’s a strange day when you are thinking to yourself one day, I wonder what ever happened to Ken McHugh of Autamata in recent years, he was one of my favourite acts back when we had started Goldenplec. So much so that we had Autamata play at our charity gig back in 2004 in the Temple Bar Music Centre.
And just as you have such a thought a video lands in your inbox from Dana Donnelly and Ken McHugh, who have a new band called I’m Your Vinyl with a new song from their forthcoming album. The song is ‘This Is Your Life’ and the album will be called ‘We Face Forward’ and is hitting shelves in April 2012.
The video was shot on a cold day in december in a dirty pond. Now that’s dedication. Video was directed by Ken McHugh and Myles O’Rielly with cameras by Myles, Simon O’Neill and Wayne Farrell.
It’s funky, it’s fun and upbeat with a toe tapping electric riff simmering throughout. We’re off to the nearest pond in the hopes of finding Dana, altogether now…. Brrrr a ba ba baaaaa, Ba Ba Ba Baaaaaaa.
