April 19th 2013 marked the first anniversary of teh death of Levon Helm, drummer and vocalist in the legendary American act, The Band.
In a night earmarked to pay tribute to the great man, who’s musical works extend into Big Pink, The Band and the final concert of said Band, The Last Waltz, one of the great concerts to have ever been witness (grab the DVD if you haven’t seen it).
On the night, some of Ireland’s foremost musicians – The Walls, Republic Of Loose, The Mighty Stef, The Lost Brothers, Gavin Glass, Valerie Francis, Graham Hopkins and Joe Doyle from The Frames, The Group, The Trouble Pilgrims, Pete Cummins, Ben Prevo and more will perform music from all stages of Levon’s career. The gig will be on in The Sugar club on April 19th 2013 with tickets costing €14.50 inclusive of booking fee available from Tickets.ie.
All proceeds go to The Irish Cancer Society.
