More great news for Irish music in general as the newest festival added to festival season last year was Temple House Festival in Ballymote in Sligo.
The European Festival Awards were held in Groningen’s Stadsschouwburg in Holland. It was part of the 25th anniversary edition of Eurosonic.
The newbies managed to scoop “Best New Festival” and is a serious tip of the hat to the festival as one of the best festivals in Ireland, even though it was only in it’s first year. Over 80 acts including The Wailers, Howard Jones, NYPC, The Undertones, Damien Dempsey, The Walls, The Stunning, The Sawdoctors, O Emperor, Bipolar Empire, The Shoos, RSAG, Miracle Bell, Peter Hook and Terry Hall and entertained almost 4,000 music fans over 3 days.
