Preston Reed to play Hole In The Wall
New York Guitar hero Preston Reed will open his Irish tour with a date in the Hole In The Wall in Kilkenny on Wednesday 1st June. The virtuoso guitarist will play that venue with the tickets costing €18 to catch this great.

He will also play Patricks Bar in Ennis  on June 2nd (€12) then INEC Killarney on June 4th, Cruiscin Lan on June 8th, TLT, Drogheda on June 9th and finally Source Arts Centre in Thurles, Co. Tipperary on June 10th to round up the tour.

Strawberry Fest 2011 announces some top acts
Wexfords biggest outdoor event bringing 5,000 people to Enniscorthy throughout the weekend of the 3 day festival which has announced that they will have a great lineup involving The Coronas, The Saw Doctors, Jedward, Cry Before Dawn and 90s cover band Smash Hits.

Ali Campbell of UB40  will play his only Irish date this summer as the festival so that will be a unique showpiece for the festival where you can catch the likes of “Kingston Town”, “Red Red Wine” and “Can’t Help Falling In Love”. Strawberry Fest 2011 takes place at Wexford Showgrounds in Enniscorthy on June 24th – 26th. Tickets available from Ticketmaster.ie

Marc O’Reilly to release new single and tour dates
Waterford singer songwriter Marc O’Reilly is set to release his new single ‘FOO’ from his debut album ‘My Friend Marx’ his debut album which came out early 2011.

He will be having a launch at Cyprus Avenue on Friday 27th May. He will also play The Octagon in Westport on May 28th then over the Westmeath for Body and Soul festival on June 18th. Then it’s onwards to Cork for a double first support Breed Owl Breed at Midsummer Festival on June 22nd and then playing his own gig in The Bowery on June 26th.

The O’s to play Upstairs at Whelans
Texas-based Alt. Folk/Country duo The O’s will be touring the UK and Ireland in June in support of their new album ‘Between The Two’ and they will play two gigs which include Upstairs in Whelans, Dublin on Wednesday June 1st and then down to Limerick on Thursday June 2nd.

The Suburbians win Indie Week Ireland
UK’s Essex boys The Suburbians came, saw and conquered at Indie Week Ireland after blowing away crowds and being named ‘Best Of The Fest’. Their Guitar driven, hook-laden rock n’ roll and can be compared to Foo Fighters.

The band was chosen by members of RCA Records, Sony Canada, Hotpress and Bruised Fruit amongst others for their songwriting and performance and their promise to potentially be great.

Mick Lynham from RCA said

“I think it’s safe to say, this band will have a big career ahead if they keep this standard of songwriting.”

Oddsocks announce Dublin date and Temple House
Blues rock quartet Oddsocks revival have announced that in addition to the previously announces gigs of Kanes Pub in Kerry on June 4th, The Rory Gallagher Festival on 5th June, Vibe Festival in Waterford on June 10th they will now play one more festival and a Dublin show.

They will play The Grand Social in Dublin on June 11th and then up to Temple House Festival in Sligo on June 12th, no doubt with the amount of festival appearances you will catch them somewhere.

H2O to play Fibber Magees
New York Punk legend H20 are coming to Ireland on Friday August 19th to play Fibber Magees. They will have support on teh night from Find A Way, Frustration and 20 Bulls Each.

D.R.I. to play The Grand Social in June
Punk/Metal cross over merchant from San Francisco D.R.I. are coming to Dublin to play The Grand Social on June 13th. Support has not been announced yet but should follow this announcement soon.

The Old Firm Casuals to play Whelans
Brand new America street punk band from San Francisco, The Old Firm Casuals who feature Lars Frederiksen from Rancid will be coming to Dublin. They are set to play Whelans on August 2nd for an exclusive Irish show. Support on the night comes from Runnin Riot’ and Primitevo.

Come On Live Long debut EP launch
Come On Live Long launch their debut ComeOnLiveLong E.P down at Crawdaddy on June 10th. A limited amount of homemade original press E.Ps will be available on the night. Support comes from Conor Walsh and his keys.
