A new venue is opening on Dame Lane, Dublin 2 this weekend. The Electric Lounge is located in the downstairs area where Shebeen Chic used to be. Gigs are guaranteed to be intimate with a capacity of just 70 punters.
The first gig in this new venue is tonight, Friday 20th January featuring Simon Bird, Bantum & Ickis Mirolo (more information can be found here. Saturday night consists of The Candidates, Tongue Bundle & The Soulicitors (more info here).
One of the founders of The Electric Lounge is Joe Panama and he said:
It is our hope that The Electric Lounge will become a space that people can come and use for a massive range of things, from music to spoken word, comedy, theatre, film, exhibitions and anything else people can dream up. We aim to keep prices of gigs as low as we can, free when at all possible.
