Mumford and Sons are set to return to Ireland this June for two shows at Malahide Castle.

This will be the group’s first shows in Ireland since they played on their fancy stage at the 3Arena (pictured below) which they were later forced to abandon.

Special guests to Mumford and Sons at the open-air events include one of Ireland’s most successful artists in recent years Dermot Kennedy

Perhaps it was the algorithm, Kennedy isn’t quite sure, but somehow Taylor Swift discovered his music on Spotify and added one of his songs to her personal playlist

“I don’t know how that works,” exclaims Kennedy at the mention of Swift. “It’s cool; there was tonnes of other music I’m into in there – Volcano Choir, Bon Ivor. It got that song a tonne of plays.”

Also on the line-up are 2019 Plec Picks act Wild Youth

“When we heard The Script for the first time, we were like, ‘who the f*ck is this? They’re class!’ We wanted that same reaction, to be a mega-band,” lead vocalist David tells GoldenPlec.

And finally, Norwegian popstar Aurora, best-known round these parts for her John Lewis Christmas advert version of Oasis’ Half The World Away.
