The Galway Fringe Festival is an open-access multi-disciplinary arts festival bringing you the very best theatre, dance, visual art, literature, comedy, music, children’s and street theatre.

This year the Galway Fringe Festival has an exciting line up of some of the best indie, electro, rock and pop acts in the country including The Altered Hours, Nanu Nanu, Myles Manley, The Tightrope Walkers, Carriages and Leading Armies.

The Fringe has also included the cream of local talent in its line up with acts like My Fellow Sponges, The Hardcore Priests of Yemen, Steven Sharpe, Mikey & The Scallywags and Canaries all playing a big part in the festival. All of these and many more play the Galway Fringe Mainstage in The Victoria Hotel where live music continues until 2am most nights.

The Altered Hours will be joined by Boyfights, Oh Boland, Pockets and Brain Kelly on Thursday July 17th. Alien pop duo Nanu Nanu, who make a fusion of dark electronic hiphop and techno, and play on Tuesday July 22nd, and critically acclaimed songwriter and performer Myles Manley plays on Wednesday July 23rd. Dublin folk/electronic duo Carriages play on Sunday July 13th with support from the Rivers and Crows.

Other highlights of the Galway Fringe Mainstage include the Irish Beatbox Championships on July 26th, the Fringe Fiddle Festival on July 19th and former In Tua Nua member Paul Byrne who brings his seven piece band to The Victoria Hotel on Friday July 25th. Padraigs Place will play host to the Fringe Folk Club during the festival and will feature performances from baritone singer Denis McArdle, trad group Roudledum and world music showcase Saudade.

Other notable Fringe Festival gigs include Fia Rua’s album launch in Arus na nGael on July 26th and American songwriters Felix Sonnyboy and Cal Folger Day who play the Citóg night in The Cellar Bar on July 16th and July 23rd respectively.
