Festival Details

Due to Covid19, Electric Picnic 2020 has ben cancelled a statement from the festival reads.

Electric Picnic tickets for next year’s festival go on sale on Monday 9th December at 12pm. Priced at €260 for Weekend Camping, €100 for Sunday Day tickets and Early Entry Passes priced at €30. Organisers are delighted to announce an increased capacity to 70,000, which means even more Picnickers can attend next year’s festival! With even more new areas in 2020, the full line-up will be revealed in the New Year.

Electric Picnic 2019 saw over 300 acts perform across a multitude of stages, with musical highlights over the course of the weekend including an unforgettable performance from Billie Eilish who pulled the largest crowd in the 16-year history of the festival, American indie-band The Strokes, and the ethereal Florence and the Machine.

The new area Freetown went down a treat with Picnickers. Thousands danced in the new electronic music tent, Terminus, while Providencia brought South American flavour and flair to the fields of Stradbally.

Commenting on the new Freetown area, which has seen the festival site expand in size, Festival Director Melvin Benn said there was capacity for the festival to grow bigger, “There is room there for a lot more people, I am certainly going to look to accommodate more music fans who are desperate to be at the Picnic, when you look at Providencia there is part of the field that has space for growth.”

When asked about next year’s ticket sales, he said “Subject to our annual statutory meeting with authorities on Tuesday, tickets to Electric Picnic 2020 will go on sale Saturday morning at 9 o’clock.”

And the good news is that the contract for Electric Picnic is set to run for another decade “We have a contract with the Cosby family for ten more years. They seem to like us. They have literally the biggest acts in the world come and play in their front garden so they’re pretty happy. They have the best festival crowd in the world come and camp in their front garden so we’re in pretty good shape with them so essentially we have a rolling ten year contract.”

Electric Picnic returns to Stradbally, Co. Laois from Friday 4th September to Sunday 6th September 2020. Tickets go on sale on Ticketmaster, this Saturday at 9.00am. Organisers are urging Picnickers to get their tickets in plenty of time to avoid disappointment as tickets for last year’s music and arts festival were snapped up in record time.

Once again we are offering the Loyalty Scheme tickets to our loyal followers as well as a three-stage instalment plan. To be eligible for a discount, you will need to prove you’ve been before and in return you’ll get the discount code. Family weekend camping tickets will also be on sale on Saturday. Campervan tickets and Early Entry passes will be available to buy but must be purchased in addition to your weekend festival ticket. Our ever-popular instalment plan is also back! You can purchase your tickets and pay in three instalments to break up the cost, the payments are due on September 7th, November 4th and December 2nd 2019.
