Who now?
Race The Flux = huge pummeling math/prog rock
Listen how?
IN 4 WORDS, HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR MUSIC?
"Loud, Restless, Colourful, Forward"
HAVE YOU BEEN TO KNOCKANSTOCKAN BEFORE? IF SO, WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE MEMORY?
" Yeah, we have once before. Our favourite memory was watching Bats rip it up. Their show is an even further mindfuck when you're not sober!"
OTHER THAN ON STAGE, WHERE ARE WE MOST LIKELY TO FIND YOU AT A FESTIVAL?
"More than likely in a corner somewhere causing mischief, or next to a bonfire. We love warmth."
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM A LIVE SHOW?
"Headbanging, questionable dancing, and RIFFS!"
DESCRIBE YOUR BEST FESTIVAL DANCE MOVE?
" I like a move called 'Feeding the Chickens'. It's where you pretend to throw seeds on the ground in a masturbatory fashion."
YOU'RE MAKING A PARTY PLAYLIST. WHAT SONG IS FIRST ON THE LIST?
"Loving You Sometimes - The Outcasts. And just because we don't give a damn, we're gonna throw Work It Out - Beyoncé on second. "
WHAT ARE YOUR MUSICAL PLANS FOR 2016?
"Write,Gig,Write,Gig,Write, and then top that off with a power blast of gigging. We like gigs."
FESTIVAL PACKING - NOTORIOUSLY DIFFICULT. BUT WHAT’S YOUR 1 LUXURY?
"Toilet Roll, no doubt. No matter how good a festival is, and Knockanstockan really is run by great people, there is always those people that use the portaloos, and destroy them with waste, and keep adding to the pile that's already in there and....well, you know. You've all witnessed it. That hilariously disgusting chocolate mountain, draped in white tissue as if it were screaming surrender. Toilet Paper is a must."
IS THERE ANYTHING YOU CONSIDERED NOT THROWING AT JOE PADFIELD IN THE BIG FIG VIDEO?
"Not really. We had a very low budget. That was our starting point for the video. See what we can do without having to spend a shit tonne of cash. So we made lists of things we can use in the video, and went to all the discount stores, and supermarkets and just bought anything we thought would look great in the shots that we can throw on him. There was never anything we were avoiding. Cheap stuff still ends up costing a lot of money when you buy enough of it though. We never thought of that!"
Race The Flux play the Burrow stage at 10pm on Sunday at this year's Knockanstockan.
