Well the last few weeks has us overdosing on festival lineups and as each one was released I found myself thinking, who is playing Castlepalooza this year, mostly because it happens to coincide with my birthday each year but I’ve also never had a bad weekend down there.
This year Castlepalooza is 6 years old and is growing to a three day festival. Around fifty acts over three days in Charleville Castle in Tullamore, County Offaly on July 29th, 30th and 31st. There is a special launch price for the tickets for 59 hours from 9am today a three day ticket including camping is just €59. So that will end at 8pm on Friday so be quick, I think that’s the cheapest ticket I’ve seen for any three day festival, possibly even two day. There will be a new area called the courtyard which will be great for lazing the day away and at night will have entertainment. As always the non music aspect will be there with the Day Spa, Sunday Afternoon Ceili, dance and craft workshops, art exhibitions and more.
The lineup this year includes hip hop stars Naughty By Nature, electronic act Hudson Mohawke, Irish star Jape who will also bring his other project Visionair to Castlepalooza too. We also get…

But the lineup continues with new Irish acts including Conall Bailey, Dogs, El Hombre Jokes, Elaine Mai, Electric Penguins, Enemies, Go Panda Go, Jogging, Kid Karate, Lasertom & the Blast Crew, Moths, The Casanova Wave, The Danger Is, The Young Folk, Toby Karr, TransAutoRadio and We Are Losers.
If you fancy a late night dance then the Boudoir Big Top will have DJs Bingo & Dazboy, the Bad to the Bone soundsystem which includes John Maclean ex Beta Band/The Aliens & his brother Dave from Django Django, BigDishGo; Steve Reddy & DJ Tu-Ki.
After the special €59 intro offer tickets for two day with camping are €74 and three day are €89. The couples treating themselves pack is back for €299 you get a tent already pitched, sleeping bag, pillows, chocolates and bottle of champagne.
