The build up to that tough second album is certainly easing the wondering of how they can possibly follow up ‘Becoming A Jackal’.
First was Waves, which is a charming re-introduction to Villagers. A nice bridge track. Passing A Message continues that gentle evolution to the new album. It is accompanied by a lyric based video directed by Billy Pilgrim. The new album will be out on January 11th 2013 and is called {Awayland} which can be pre-ordered HERE.
Villagers are currently on a UK and European tour with Grizzly Bear, but will be back in November for intimate shows in The Blackbox, Belfast (Nov 11th) and Whelans, Dublin (Nov 13th, sold out). Then it’s next year for the next show on March 21st in the Olympia Theatre.
