Dublin noise-pop sextet and 2017 Plec Picks Thumper have shared a video for their upcoming single In My Room, which will be released on 26th April via Reckless Records.

“In My Room is a discussion about willing yourself into a reclusive state; telling yourself it’s an act of autonomy when really it’s an act of self-sabotage. It’s a word soup of denial and confession, and a warning letter to a future self about the mania of self-imposed loneliness”, say the band. In My Room will be the last single released ahead of their highly-anticipated, upcoming EP coming in May.

Thumper have been building a reputation as one of Dublin’s most exciting bands, notorious for their wild live shows, their turbocharged, ear-piercing feedback and their pummeling rhythm. In My Room brings more of Thumper’s signature abrasive sound and sweet hooks.

Thumper have been touring relentlessly, joining FangClub on a national tour, headlining Hard Working Class Heroes and garnering support from major Irish and UK radio stations along the way. With a recent performance at Dublin’s newest venue Lost Lane to launch Knockanstockan and the announcement that the band will headline the Nialler9 showcase on 2nd May at the Cyprus Avenue, Cork; 2019 could prove to be a big year for Thumper; and with tunes like these it’s easy to see why.
