GRAMMY Award winner Sturgill Simpson European tour, will arrive in Dublin for a show in Vicar Street, this coming February 2020.

The tour will follow the release of Sturgill Simpson’s highly anticipated fourth album ‘Sound & Fury’ and its accompanying Netflix anime film, which will be released simultaneously on 27th September.

For this unlikely combination of country rock and Japanese animation Sturgill Simpson engaged some of the biggest names in the genre. Based on a story by Simpson, the film was written and directed by Jumpei Mizusaki, founder of renowned animation studio Kamikaze Douga and director of “Batman Ninja,” while Takashi Okazaki, creator of Japanese manga series ‘Afro Samurai,’ served as the film’s character designer.  Additional directors include Koji Morimoto of Phy (‘AKIRA’) / Griot Groove, Michael Arias (‘Tekkonkinkreet’), Masaru Matsumoto of Grayscale Arts (‘Starship Troopers:  Traitors of Mars’), Henry Thurlow and Arthell Isom of D’ART Shtajio (‘Indigo Ignited, XOgenaSYS’). Shunsuke Ochiai is co-executive producer. Hiroaki Takeuchi is production executive (‘The Animatrix’).

‘Sound & Fury’ is Simpson’s fourth full length release following his self-produced, GRAMMY® Award-winning 2016 album, ‘A Sailor’s Guide To Earth’ – Pre-order here.

Sturgill Simpson live at Vicar Street 1st February 2020. Tickets €30.00 inclusive of booking fee, on sale Friday at 9AM.
