Fresh from their sold out headline show at The Workman’s Club Dublin last month, State Lights have announced their biggest Dublin headline yet at Whelan’s this October.

While the quartet led by singer Shobsy have a frivilous ’80s pop edgethey tackle serious social issues such as suicide, LGBT rights and the environment throughout their tracks. Latest single Lonely is a prime example.

“Each member of our band, like most people in the world, have experienced mental health issues.” said Shobsy, in a recent interview.“We wanted to face it head on, not shy away from it. We also wanted to make the point with the artwork and lyric video for the song that phones and social media when over-used can seriously damage mental health.” – Read the interview in full here.
