Indie rock five-piece SPIES have announced that their Whelan’s show on February 15th will be their last day. In a statement posted on their Twitter today, they said:

“Dear friends, families, and fans,

We have decided to call it a day as SPIES. The five of us had an amazing time playing music together over the last 10 years but we feel the time is right to move on.

There are no hard feelings, we are still very close friends, but with members spread across different countries and with our lives moving in different directions we felt it made sense to make this show our last.”

SPIES were one of our Plec Picks in 2015 and we’ve been delighted to see them progress over the years, culminating in their excellent debut album ‘Constancy’, which they released in November 2018.

We at GoldenPlec would like to wish the lads well, we can’t wait to hear what comes from them in their future endeavours.
