Formed in 2009, Crow Black Chicken are a Dublin based blues rock three-piece and 2011 saw the release of their début EP, Organic. If you’re looking for a fresh slice of smoky vocals, buttered guitars and some fine blues then look no further. Four incredibly well written and preformed tunes that are guaranteed to please all fans of music. The band is working on their first album so this is your chance to catch them on the rise.

Organic starts off with the wonderful Charlie’s Women that sounds like an undiscovered gem from the Allman Brothers back catalogue. Perfect Americana blues with a crunchy guitar lick and dense rhythm backdrop. The vocals are produced perfectly to fall back into the music without becoming too buried. A short n’ tasty solo will sell it to you if nothing else. Black Asphalt gives a nod to a light jazz blues influence. Restrained, broken up and some fantastic drumming make this another little prize for your listening pleasure.

John Lee Wee bring the guitars crashing back to life on this release with finger shredding force. The intimidating power of the music between verses, especially the bellowing bass line make this yet another must go (sensing a trend yet?). All good things comes to an end and that end is Diaspora, a faded late night little number perfect for montages of seedy LA motels at day break. Whiskey soaked vocals, raw guitars and a bass that’ll shake your headphones – another beauty. There isn’t a lull moment on this EP and no doubt you’ll be hearing a lot more about Crow Black Chicken in 2012. Check out their sound cloud now to hear for yourself.
