Who are your favourite Irish artists at the moment?
“After the Ibis & I Have a Tribe.”

Cannot pick between the two right now. After the Ibis have been long in my heart for many a year, I Have a Tribe is new for me since seeing him live down in Caherdaniel at The Fading Light Festival last month.”

Apart from the #GoldenBeck gig, what’s coming up for you this year?
“I will be releasing a single in the new year followed by a wee EP – the next gig will most likely be the new year too, giving that I’m living in a place called Castle Cove, Co.Kerry for the next 4-months writing an album. And why I’m only getting back is because – yes you guessed it – no internet.”

The last text message you sent is your next album title. What is it?
‘BYOB – bring your own bread’

Garr Cleary Spirit Store“This is a picture of myself and both my two beautiful sisters (I’ve got three but one she couldn’t t make it) at a gig in The Spirit Store. I was supported Hozier that night.

It was amazing but the real amazing thing is that these two mothers dropped everything and came to see me play on short notice. The one on the right is Ceara, she and her husband made sure I didn’t grow up listening to shit music. They brought me to my first gig at 12 (The Frames). Every few weeks Kev (Ceara’s husband) would send me down CD’s of bands he would think I would like – Gomez, Damien Rice, Josh Ritter, James Brown.

The one to the left is Bróna. She taught me how to fight; fought all my battles for me and is someone I really look up too.

And before my other sister feels left out – she raised me.”
