Well it’s that time again, for 101 top Irish bands to stand up and be counted in one of the most diverse and different festivals that tags right on at the end of the summer months.

It’s lots of venues, lots of band (101 to be exact), three good days solid of top Irish bands showcasing their wares to those with a real interest in Irish music.

So 101 bands, how do you decide what to see, well we thought we would pick 3 acts from each day to help you on your way to catching some great acts. The rest is up to you. As always this is just a guideline and not a definitive list of top acts playing at the festival. It would be very easy for us to choose bands we have previously sang praises of like Cast of Cheers, Heathers, Sweet Jane, Bitches with wolves, Planet Parade, Dark Room Notes etc, so we will try move out picks to something we have not maybe suggested by preview before. Assume the above are must see acts.

The Gorgeous Colours @ The Grand Social 10:10pm – Breaking Tunes

Indie-pop five piece from Dublin, The Gorgeous colours have gotten some rather nice superlatives regarding their debut album as a top pop album from an Irish act. We reckon with an album that highly regarded, it would be a shame to miss these guys live.

Folk rockers Junah won the Bulmers ‘Band 101’ competition to get here. So we havn’t first hand experience of these guys but we reckon if they have managed to win through the competition they can’t be all that bad and most definitely deserve a viewing.
