Fingal County Council announced today they have granted a licence for the forthcoming Prince concert to take place in the grounds of  the historic Malahide Castle, Dublin , Saturday 30th July.

Promoted by POD and ICO , the concert is part of a European Tour which kicked off at the end of June in Paris to over 50,000 ecstatic fans in Stade de France. To date the tour has seen Prince perform in France, Poland, UK, Belgium and The Netherlands. He will perform in Cologne on 28th July, before flying to Dublin for his  Malahide Castle show which he promises is going to be special ‘I can’t wait to play Dublin. It’s gonna be an incredible show. It’s going to be a show of real music by real musicians’

He revealed earlier this month that the band have rehearsed 300 songs for his tour dates around Europe. He described himself as a loving tyrant  “I’m probably the hardest bandleader to work for, but I do it for love. Rehearsing such an extensive array of tracks makes playing live more fun than it used to be”. He has been wooing audiences across Europe performing his extensive back catalogue of greatest hits with dazzling energy and showmanship with a set list that includes all his classics.

Malahide Castle,  steeped in history , dating back to the twelfth century will be a suitable royal setting for Prince this summer when he takes to the stage July 30th.
