Five-piece Nix Moon’s are one of Ireland’s most adventurous musical chameleons. Never staying too long within the confines of one particular genre they shift and morph between styles with the snap of a finger.
Nix Moon’s latest song ‘Ceremony’ finds them initially starting of in a whoosy mystical folk arena before building up a considerable head of steam into a weighty prog-rock style crescendo.
We are delighted to be able to premiere the video for Ceremony today, which was shot in forest parks in Monaghan and Armagh. It captures the nomadic mysticism of the song as the hunter gatherer, in the video, utilises the local fungi for enlightenment. Don’t try this at home kids, unless you are a registered shaman.
Ceremony follows quickly on the heels of April’s 4-track EP ‘Windmill Lane Sessions’ further showcasing the band’s musical ability and agility.
Ceremony shows again that Nix Moon confound expectations as they are never ones to just rehash what they have done previously. With a debut album due in 2019, Ceremony, marks the occasion as 2019 being the year that they truly arrive.
