nmdThis weekend, March 1st-3rd, sees the National Concert Hall opening its doors to the major new musical and creative festival New Music Dublin Festival. NMD is the result of a collaboration between The Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon, The National Concert Hall, RTÉ Orchestras and the Contemporary Music Centre.

The festival includes many top class performances, from the National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of virtuoso trombonist Christian Lindberg, the Hilliard Ensemble performing the music of Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson, the Callino quartet with the world premiere of a Kevin Volans piece, amongst many other top performances and events.

Alongside all the music, a number of masterclasses, workshops, and seminars will be taking place over the weekend with many top composers and performers, including the opportunity to get involved in some one on one micro-performances. There will be something for everyone over the three days of top quality music and art.

Schedules and ticket prices are individually priced for each event, and all details are available and can be purchased from the National Concert Hall website, www.nch.ie, as well as from the National Concert Hall Box Office.
