Listen to ‘In Search of The Blue Nile’ the latest project from PPI Award winning radio documentary maker Ken Sweeney.

In Search Of The Blue Nile charts the history and music of The Blue Nile a group from the Irish side of Glasgow, who, despite only releasing four albums – across twenty years – established themselves as one of the world’s quintessential band’s bands.

The Blue Nile’s 1989 album ‘Hats’ is regarded as their masterpiece and one of the greatest albums of all time – Q Magazine placed it at 92 in their list of the 100 best British albums of all time.

The documentary features interviews with Blue Nile members Paul Buchanan and PJ Moore, as well as The 1975, Tom Dunne (Something Happens) and Ian Wilson (2FM Producer) amongst others.

John Douglas of The Trashcan Sinatras describes ‘In Search Of The Blue Nile’ as “Beautiful, respectful, probing, informative.. the Blue Nile documentary is perfect .. the mystery remains but the insights coaxed out of Buchanan and PJ are priceless..”
