We’re firmly in the throws of Yuletide celebrations now, and there is a bumper offering of festive musical fare available in the Treaty City over the next few weeks, here’s just a few of the highlights.

49th and Main

Kilkenny indie-pop duo 49th & Main bring their Underqualified Tour to Dolan’s Warehouse on December 18.

Hitchers stalwart brings the T’was all Fun and Games 25th Anniversary to close in The Commercial Bar’s Record Room on Tue, December 20.

The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra

One of the longest Christmas traditions in Limerick was the annual BPLO Christmas show, and at long last it is back Upstairs in Dolans on December 22, with support from Jenny McMahon and Niall Quinn.

Pigtown Talent Presents

There’s a feast of talent on show on December 22 in the Record Room with Nenagh troubadour Dawna headling the night’s entertainment with support from JAYNE & the highly talented Abe Soare who won the Mike the Pies Battle of the Bands earlier this year.

HousePlants

After wowing crowds at festivals during the summer, and releasing their brand new Seaglasss EP, the wonderful collaboration between Paul Doonan and Daithí bring their dancetastic show to Dolan’s Warehouse on December 28.

The 4 of Us

Also on December 28 in Dolan’s are those wonderful Murphy boys from Newry who play Upstairs.

And So I Watch You From Afar

One of the loudest bands I’ve ever witnessed top the bill in the Kasbah Social Club for two nights straight from December 29 with support from the unmissable God Alone.

The Record Room hosts their Festive Belter on December 29 starring a trio of stellar talents Strange Boy,Enda Gallery & JusMe.

The Flag Listeners

Back in Dolan’s the musical project that features two of Limerick’s foremost musicians Eamonn Hehir and John Steel play Upstairs December 30, with the aforementioned Abe Soare supporting.

The Mary Wallopers

There has been a long affinity between the music scenes of Limerick and Dundalk perfectly illustrated by the love for The Mary Wallopers on Shannonside, their New Year’s Eve show has been long sold out but they also play the Warehouseon the previous evening too.

Backstory Holiday Dance

Downtown in Pharmacia there’s a very special Backstory Holiday Dance night being hosted by Dónal Dineen with live A/V sets by Kevin Blake and Baby Nits on December 30.

Lofty Sounds Rings in the New Year
