John Francis Flynn and Ye Vagabonds were the big winners at last night’s RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards with each act picking up two gongs each in Vicar Street.  John Francis Flynn picked up the awards for Best Emerging Artist and Best Folk Singer, while Ye Vagabonds took home the awards for Best Folk Group and Best Traditional Folk Track for their version of I’m A Rover.

The award for Best Original Folk Track went to Mick Flannery and Susan O’Neil for their hit Chain Reaction, while the award for Best Folk Album went to Eoghan Ó Ceannabháin and Ultan O’Brien for ‘Solas an Lae’.
