This week’s round-up of the best new Irish music features craic merchants The Mary Wallopers’ eponymous debut album and Aoife Nessa Frances’ regal folk outing ‘Protector’ while Cork veteran James O’Donnell shares his debut project under the moniker Ways Of Seeing. Thurles act Bright Falls aka Eddie McCormack shares his debut album ‘Dusk’. There’s also brand new Extended Players from the likes of Day_S and Meryl Streek.

This week sees the return of some big hitters with brand new music from The Academic and Jape who both have new albums on the horizon. At the other end of the spectrum singer-songwriter Joseph O’Sullivan and electro artist FIN. impress with their debut singles, while up-and-comers such as Lauren Ann, Crybabyamy and ELKE deliver on the promise that recently encouraged labels to draw up contracts. Echo Northstar builds on his impressive debut single with the release of Silent Fears, while Amy Ellen follows up her wonderful single Day Dreamin’ with the release of Falling

All this, plus new music from the likes of Meltybrains?, Doshoda, Boyfens, Bog Bodies, Darian June, Actual Acid, Jah1, Aine Deane, Ciaran Lavery and much more besides  in what’s undoubtedly one of the busiest weeks for new Irish singles of 2022.
