Dublin post punks Gurriers have returned with gritty new single ‘Des Goblin’, a fan favourite from their pulsating live shows. Des Goblin sees the quintet once again working with producer Alex Greaves (BDRMM, Bored At My Grandma’s House) and delving further into their love of all dance music.

“’Des Goblin’ is about apathy and self-obsession in the face of impending destruction, particularly to do with the effects of climate change and war and people being too obsessed with themselves and their online personas to be able to see the wood for the trees,” explains singer Dan Hoff. “Musically we pulled from further afield than previously, and really leaned in on our dance influences as well as a more fluent spoken word style vocal.

The release of Des Goblin is marked with some sadness as the group have also announced that bassist Emmet White is leaving the band to focus on other musical ventures including his other band Yard. White is being replaced by Charlie McCarthy who has previously filled in for White at several festivals last summer.

Gurriers will follow-up the release of Des Goblin with a series of live shows throughout Europe including two nights opening for Mother Mother in 3Olympia Theatre on Feb 22-23. Gurriers are then set to take SXSW by storm next month with 4 shows at the legendary music festival.
