Fight Like Apes at The Workman’s Club | Gig of the Week

  Team GP are very excited about this weeks Gig of the Week. The mighty Fight Like Apes are back! Those kind folks over at 10 Days in Dublin  are aiming to raise €10,000 for the festival this year. So they asked MayKay & co to give them a hand in doing that in the form of a gig. Get down to The Workman’s Club on Friday. Tickets are still available and only a tenner. You’ll also get treated to performances from Come On Live Long and Tujacques and Benny Smiles.

Tonight, Local Natives are in Whelans. Limited tickets available on the door and are €19.50.

Bloc Party are taking over The Olympia Theatre for two nights on Tuesday and Wednesday. Unsurprisingly they are both sold out.

Not content with announcing a Boyzone date today, that Ronan Keating is playing to a sold out Waterfront Hall in Belfast on Tuesday. Support comes from Brian McFadden.

If you want to avoid Valentines Day, Tex-Mex indie rockers Calexico are hitting up The Olympia Theatre on Thursday. Tickets are €25 and still available. Alternatively get raving over in The Twisted Pepper for The Heatwave, tickets are still available and are €9.50.

Everybody’s favorite nostalgia rockers Ocean Colour Scene have a hat trick of sold out gigs in The Academy kicking off on Friday night. No wonder since they have quite the reputation for memorable gigs. Joining OCS on the sold out, em, train are the rather popular The Lumineers. They’ll be in The Olympia Theatre on Saturday. If you fancy a quiet end to the week and like your eardrums in tact, we recommend that you avoid The O2 from early on Sunday afternoon as that little known teen sensation, Justin Bieber, is in town. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
