Festival Details

Now heading into its sixth year, Vantastival is a celebration of campervan culture and a top class music festival rolled into one, taking place at Bellurgan Park, Co. Louth, over the May bank holiday weekend.

One of Ireland’s finest and most imaginative bands, Delorentos will top the bill at Vantastival this May bank holiday weekend. The Dublin four-piece are currently in the running for a second Meteor Choice Music Prize for their 2014 album ‘Night Becomes Light’, having previously won the award in 2012.  Their single Show Me Love is also on the shortlist for song of the year and the critically-acclaimed band have big plans for 2015, including the headline slot at Vantastival on Sunday 3rd May.  In an inspired move, Vantastival has booked satirical Welsh rappers Goldie Lookin’ Chain as the Saturday headliner. The controversial band has a cult following and with a new album due out in April, they are certain to draw a crowd to their show on May 2nd

As always Vantastival 2015 will retain its distinctly Irish focus. Other acts confirmed to play include the always excellent R.S.A.G. who’s returning due to popular demand, local lads The Flaws, who have a new album due out in March, and Rackhouse Pilfer, the Irish-Americana folk outfit from Sligo who were voted Hot Press & Jagermeister Freezer Sessions “Live Band of the Year 2014“.  Also on the bill this year is Tecimerico, a Japanese experimental outfit who play expansive cinematic pop, and Temper-Mental Misselayneous, a.k.a. Elayne Harrington, who recently starred in RTE’s Connected.

Vantastival takes place at the beautiful Bellurgan Park, just north of Dundalk, exactly halfway between Dublin and Belfast. The festival runs from 1st to 3rd May.  Tickets are now on sale at €95 for three nights camping, available from vantastival.com/tickets. See www.vantastival.com for more details.
