We've long been fans of Mongoose here at GP. We've shared their news, had them play at our #GoldenBeck night, shot a video of them down at Vantastival (see here) and joined in while their underwater sea-sounds antics were going on during their live shows across the country.

Now, we're delighted to bring you a new, improved and rerecorded version of their first single 'The Bottom Line'.

The track was recorded in Celbridge by Ciaran Thurlow, mixed by Liam Mulvany at Bow Lane Studios and mastered by Aidan Foley at Master Labs.

Head along and catch Mongoose live, this Friday at the single launch for 'The Bottom Line'. The gig takes place in Whelans (Friday 21st Nov) - more info here.

Their fantastically quirky video for the single, will be released on Friday morning. The video was shot and directed by David Keeling.

What is the song about?

"The song is about the bottom line, and if one doesn’t know what the bottom line is, one should refer back to the song. If that doesn’t get you anywhere, it’s loosely based on the achy-breaky lines of one’s bottomless heart in the throes of young love.  Very loosely."

It’s short, snappy and in your face - it’s both a grabber and a catcher.

Any plans for future releases?

"There will be another few singles to come, the first of which will hopefully be out around February time. We are hoping to have the album ready to go by early summer".
