This week on GoldenPlec we’ve questioned the relevance of the encore. We spoke to hipster Agony Aunt in waiting Rozi Plain about her upcoming 5-date tour of Ireland. We premiered ’Mestizo’, the debut album by Mongrel State. And, as ever, our writers and photographers have been taking in the best gigs in Ireland, including Villagers.

Villagers at Vicar Street by James Murray

Sadly, as February marched into our lives Mother Nature continued to lay claim to the great and the good, with Terry Wogan, Jefferson Airplane’s Signe Anderson, and Interference’s Fergus O’Farrell all leaving us.

As ever the GoldenStereo playlist comprises an eclectic selection of tracks chosen by our team of writers and photographers. After all, where else would you find Erykah Badu lining up beside Humphrey Lyttelton, and Fucked Up? Probably nowhere, but that's the way we like it.  Irish music is represented heavily as ever with The Frames, Cian Nugent, Wyvern Lingo, Not Squares, Rocstrong, Paddy Hanna and Mongrel State all appearing.

Until next week enjoy the strangest playlist in town.
