London-based Irish alt-pop artist April is back with her latest single and video Piece of Me, alongside the news of her signing to Atlantic Records UK. The track, her first new release this year, follows her recent feature on Alfie Templeman’s song One More Day.

Emerging in 2020, her first two EPs and standout singles The Impossible Task of Feeling Complete and Forever (To Feel Like Tonight) announced April’s arrival as a fresh new voice from the Irish scene. Pleasing listeners and critics alike, she has amassed over 8 million streams to date.

April wrote Piece of Me with composer Frank Colluci (Sea Girls), and the track was produced by Fred Macpherson (Spector). The track sees April explore the kind of unshakeable and nostalgic love that permeates and often shapes our lives. Its vibrant, lighthearted video that further expands on this concept.

Speaking about the track, April says, “Piece of Me is about that feeling when someone else is a part of you – that no matter what, they will always be like a time capsule of a different time when you were a different person. It’s about loving someone. Aside from the lyrics of the song being about heartbreak, the song feels warm, uplifting and nostalgic.”

Alongside the news of her new release and record deal, April has announced a slew of tour dates to take place across Europe this November, including shows at Academy 2 in Dublin (15th November) and the Róisín Dubh in Galway (17th November).

Piece of Me is available on all streaming platforms now.
