Minamilist psych-rock act Shearwater returned with a new album ‘Animal Joy’ back in February of this year.

They will be over to promote the album with special guests Great Lake Swimmers and Dusted on November 28th 2012 in The Button Factory. Tickets for the show are €15 inclusive of booking fee and are on sale now.

The G-Man presents… A Low Trees promotion

Cork based blogger The G-man continues his series of gigs with a third “The G-Man Present”s in The Roundy in Cork on Friday 5th October. Playing on the night are Hello Moon and The Great Balloon Race.

Doors at 9pm – first band at 9.30pm. Admission is €6

Tied To Machines add Belfast dates

Tied To Machines released their latest EP ‘Carla’ back on August 13th and have been out around Ireland promoting it since.

They have added a date to Belfast, where last night they supported No Spill Blood and TCBOO. They will now also play September 20th for RADAR @ Speakeasy with Pocket Billiards and Chocolate Love Factory. Tied To Machines EP is available through the bands website and iTunes NOW.

The Limelight

Following an extensive refurbishment, The Limelight Complex is to open the space formerly known as “The Spring & Airbrake” later this month. This is phase one of a multi-million pound renovation for these renowned city centre music venues.

So now there will be The Limelight (formerly Spring and Airbrake) and The Limelight 2 (formerly The Limelight) as part of The Limelight Complex. Think The Academy, Dublin but up in Belfast.

Co-Owner Phil Donaldson, Director of The Limelight Belfast Ltd., commented: “This represents just the beginning of what promises to be a very exciting period for The Limelight. Extensive re-development is planned over the next 18 months, which will be entirely focused on delivering a world class customer experience at our bars, live events & club nights.

Upcoming events at The Limelight Complex include Labrinth, The Proclaimers, Frank Turner, Anthrax, Simian Mobile Disco, Ryan Bingham, Electric Six, The Staves, Benjamin Francis Leftwich, Little Angels, Y&T, Duff McKagan (Guns & Roses) and Ugly Kid Joe.

Thread Pulls, Yximalloo, Withering Zithering

The Joinery will play host to a gig with three top acts.

The gig will take place on October 19th with doors at 8pm. Playing on the night are Thread Pulls, Yzimalloo and Withering Zithering. Admission is €8 adn it’s BYOB (Bring Your Own Beer).
