John Wilson announced as Principal Conductor Designate of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra

Revered conductor, arranger and musicologist John Wilson has just been announced as Principal Conductor Designate of the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. He will replace the current conductor David Brophy in 2014.

With a background of having performed in the BBC Proms, many years of excellent work with his own orchestra the John Wilson Orchestra, as well as many other fine  musical honours, it will certainly be a joy to see our own RTÉ Concert Orchestra under his baton in the future.

This evening, he will conduct the RTÉ CO in his ‘Essential Classics’ concert, and again on Thursday September 19th for an ‘Essential Opera’ concert.
