Well it’s jam-packed for quality gigs this week. Having had to reschedule their highly anticipated September show, Brooklyn’s finest Yeasayer are finally getting around to playing Dublin this weekend. It’s this week’s Gig of The Week, and is in The Village on Saturday night. Surprisingly there are still tickets available from €25.
Ben Folds Five are at Vicar Street tonight. Tickets are still available and are €43.05. They are out touring their first album since 1999, should be some fun. If ska is your thing, get your baggy trousers on for Madness at The O2 on Wednesday. Tickets are still available and range from €44.55 – 51.65. Come On Live Long will be in Twisted Pepper on Thursday and that one is FREE. Irish troubadour Mark Geary is in The Workman’s on Thursday too, Tickets €18.
There are only a few tickets remaining, apparently all singles, for Jack L’s Olympia Theatre show on Friday. Tickets range from €25 – 35. In addition to Yeasayer, there’s an eclectic mix on Saturday night. Electric Six play The Academy, tickets still available from €20. Meanwhile down at The Bord Gais Energy Theatre, soul pioneers Kool & The Gang are going to get down on it. Tickets are a steep €54.50 and are still available.
Finally a tip of the hat to local lads Kodaline who are playing to a sold out Button Factory on Sunday. The lads are embarking on a headline tour of Ireland & the UK fresh from touring with The Cranberries.
