Limerick duo whenyoung have released the latest track from their up and coming second album ‘Paragon Songs’, which will be with us in early April. The band, now consisting of Aoife Power and Andrew Flood, had a meteoric rise, even being invited by Shane McGowan to play at his 60th birthday party, before releasing their impressive debut album ‘Reasons To Dream‘ to notable acclaim.

They’ve always been known for their infectious indie-pop sound, but it’s clear that the duo have continued to innovate and expand their sonic palette as has been evident with the two new singles released in recent months. The new track is called Unchained and Aoife has this to say of the track; “Unchained was written about a time when I was being made to feel like I was not enough as I am. I felt cramped, stunted and in turn obsessed by my weaknesses. Leaving this situation allowed me to regain my self esteem and release the defensive layer I had used for protection.”

The new album ‘Paragon Songs’ is out on the 7th April 2023, with an extensive tour of the UK and Ireland pencilled in for later that month, including a hometown gig in Dolan’s Warehouse, Limerick and dates in Connolly’s Of Leap, Roisin Dubh in Galway, Whelan’s, Dublin and the Spirit Store in Dundalk. Tickets for the tour are on-sale here.
