Dublin music institution Whelan’s is set to reopen on August 10th with a series intimate gigs. Due to Covid-19 restrictions the venue will run at 20% capacity with just 88 people allowed to attend gigs.

Until the situation with the Pandemic stabilises – wear a mask – shows at the Wexford Street venue will be fully seated with tables to cater for groups of 2-7 or 6 people.

As well as the normal restrictions such as temperature checks at the point entry the bands will also face new restrictions with a maximum of 4 people on stage and no sharing of microphones.

The initial run of gigs will be acoustic or electronic in nature to encourage attendees to stay in their seats.
