Apparently it’s only 18 shopping dyas until the Midsummer Solstice. A fact I did not know until the good people at Whelans let me know in their latest press release for their awesome Sounds of Summer lineup.

To celebrate the long stretch in the evenings, Whelan’s will host a four day musical extravaganza across two venues (Whelan’s and The Village) and some of these will even be FREE shows!. Opening proceedings will be Cashier No9 (in conjunction with Love:Live Music Day) on June 21st in Whelans. Admission Free.

It’s then the turn of The Riptide Movement to play a show on June 22nd with tickets for that €11. Saturday 23rd June see’s a double header with Cathy Davey in Whelans for €16  and The Hot Sprockets and Raglans in The Village for just €10. Finally on the Sunday we have Little Green Cars in Whelan’s for €8.

Lots of lovely fun and cheap entertainment to fill the long evenings.
