Next month kicks off with Galway’s Roisin Dubh hosting a stellar musical showcase on May 1st to celebrate one of Ireland’s most vibrant independent record labels, Blowtorch Records.

West x Sound West is a night conceived by Michael Smyth of Old Crows Promotions in conjunction with John O’Connor of A Modern Movement, and features a fantastic eclectic line-up consisting of acts from the label’s roster, past and present. Belfast shoegazers Virgins and Galway’s Adore headline, with Nixer, Scattered Ashes, Nerves, Savage Hearts, Some Remain, Innuendo all featuring on the night, along with The Swedish Railway Orchestra who will ensure that the vibes continue well into the night.

Blowtorch Records was founded in 2019 by Richard Burke and has been releasing music by some of Ireland’s most exciting artists, including excellent debut albums by Virgins (‘Nothing Hurt and Everything Was Beautiful’) and His Father’s Voice (‘Black Poison Morning’), and Stay Free Old Stranger, the superb recent single from Adore.
