Wallis Bird has shared details of the release of her seventh studio album ‘Hands’ which is set for release on May 27th 2022. Hands is set to be previewed by lead single What’s Wrong With Changing? and B-Side ‘Pretty Lies’.
“The song (Hands) is about the milestones of my life: living in London, getting to know other cultures as a young person, to Ireland breaking free from State and Church and voting in gay marriage in such a stark Catholic country. In my short life there have been huge changes and social structures have been dissolved and I have said over and over: what is wrong with changing? There is nothing in this world that is not changing, so I think let’s move with the change.”
Wallis Bird also refers to ‘Hands’ as ‘Nine and a half songs for 9 and a half fingers’ alluding to a childhood accident which has shaped her unusual approach to creating music ever since. This is reflected in the unusual tracklisting which sees Pretty Lies being presented at track 9 ½.
