Villagers have had an awesome year and Conor O’Brien and the lads have been nominated for awards, sold out big venues and continue to be one of the shining lights of Irish music.

Today we can tell you that Villagers have been nominated for an Ivor Novello Award in the category of “Best Song Musically and Lyrically” which is a real tip of the hat from the music industry to the quality of their material.

The song nominated is ‘Becoming A Jackal’ from the album of the same title and the awards take place in London on May 19th so a bit of tense waiting to find out if our boys can bring home the prize.

Shortly before the awards Villagers will be releasing a new single ‘The Pact’ on May 13th and they have a video to go with it directed by Myles O’Rielly. Don’t forget you can catch Villagers @The Park with special guest Beach House on July 23rd. They will also be at T in the Park, Sea Sessions among other festival summer appearances.
