Conor O’Brien has announced three special acoustic performances in London, Dublin and Paris this May to celebrate ten years of Villagers’ third album ‘Darling Arithmetic’. The follow-up to Villagers’ Mercury Prize-shortlisted ‘{Awayland}’, ‘Darling Arithmetic’ shot to No.1 in Ireland and subsequently won the Ivor Novello for Best Album.
Standout tracks include the album’s lead single ‘Courage’, the anthemic ‘Hot Scary Summer’ and the emotionally cascading ‘Everything I Am Is Yours’ which recently found new life in We Live In Time starring Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield.
Written, recorded, produced and mixed entirely by O’Brien in Malahide, the album’s sparse instrumentation allowed for the intimacy and beauty of the songs to shine through.
