Ah, sure you’re lookin’ well after the long weekend! What’s that? You want to listen to a few new tunes? Grand job, you’re in the right place!

Incase you’ve never experienced The Plec Picks (listen to older playlists here) or are a little confused about what The Plec Picks are, the GP team jot down what their most listened to songs of the week are and we make a lovely playlist of all the songs for everyone to enjoy. It’s interesting to hear what everyone is listening to and it’s a chance to treat your ear holes to something a bit out of the ordinary. And you never know, you may even discover your new favourite band!

As there’s a lot of different tastes in the mix here, every song might not be to everyone’s liking so feel free to skip to the next song if there’s something that doesn’t quite float your boat.

Click play once (it’s a playlist) and it’ll cycle through all the videos / songs (so you can just leave the tab open and keep listening).

If you do come across something you like, scroll on down the page a bit, be lovely and click the social media icons beside the artist and throw them a like/follow and explore what more they has to offer. Show your support.

We hope you enjoy this week’s offerings and be sure to let us know what you’re listening to and you might make it into next week’s edition! And sure, while you’re here you may aswell subscribe to us on YouTube to see when we add new video content and make new Plec Pick playlists.

What’s in there?

Sounds of System Breakdown // Mayfly (Chosen by Bernard O’Rourke)

It’a very catchy indie rock song with an electronic edge, which is good enough, but it’s the amazing video that really makes this tune something special.

Matchbox 20 // Overjoyed (Chosen by Laura Maher)

love Rob Thomas’ voice, its a real lovers’ song, love the lyrics..the little things when your in love and how they can affect the other person

Tandem Felix // Tell Yer Loved Ones (Chosen by Donal)

I saw this band on Paddy’s day at the Workmans – one of the best gigs I have ever been to in Ireland. I’ve been listening to their EP on Spotify a good bit. I love the production on this song; it’s quiet when it’s quiet and then when it’s loud it gets bigger and wider – so much space captured in the recording.

The Shouting Matches // Heaven Knows (Chosen by Andy Guyett)

Raw down south rock n roll, a rippin vocal line, distorted drawl. Howling harmonica that sounds like life and death screaming all at once and slide guitar that’ll kick you in the face (in a positive way).

Cfit // Plausible Deniability (Chosen by Sean Smyth)

I saw them on Friday at Vantastival and myself and a few of my friends were singing “Stay safe little Psycho” sporadically throughout the rest of the weekend :) Great live band and they’re album is free so go get it!

The Maccabees // Mary (Chosen by Joe)

Because its a great song :)

Silent Noise Parade // We used to drink! (Chosen by Sam Neary)

I like it cause these lads are absolutely class….

John Blek & The Rats // Don’t Take The Road I’ve Taken (Chosen by Justin McDaid)

John Blek & The Rats album ‘Leave Your Love at The Door’ is a fine Americana tinged collection, and this song is…well just one of twelve from that record that could have went on this week’s picks. ‘S all good

Lil Dicky // Ex-Boyfriend (Chosen by Mark Earley)

Amusement value is pretty high.

Garret Moore // Breathing Hard on thin Air (Chosen by Stephen Lyons)

The Black Keys // Lonely Boy (Chosen by Laura Maher)

catchiest riff ever!!!
