Dublin based rock band Susie Soho have offered a free download of their song ‘Stand Up‘ written by the bands lead singer Tony Fitz which he say was inspired by the economic and political situation the country faces.

For the entire of election week the download will be free and available to download from -> http://bit.ly/SSohoStandUp

The song is their commentary on what is for many a source of anger and a call to arms to turn the country around. Lord knows it can’t be much more upside down. The song was due to be part of an EP released later in the year but with the election brought forward they decided to release it now.

Tony Fitz said

“There’s a lot of anger, resentment and frustration felt by young people in Ireland at the moment. That energy, that appetite for change, for things to get better, for survival even, is palpable everywhere you go.”

“We wanted to release the song and try to encourage people to vote. We want to use it as a vehicle for getting the message out there: This is the most important election of our generation and we need to make it count by voting and having our voices heard.”
