A nice news story here in that the Valentia Isle Festival seems to have gone off on it’s debut run without a hitch and will be returning for an iteration in 2013.
We were hoping to get someone down to cover Valentia Isle festival but couldn’t free ourselves up but we heard great reports from the island and that Donal Dineens closing set was great. So it seems organisers exceeded their ticket sales expectations, bucked the recession trend and are looking now to make themselves a first fixture for festival season.

“We are delighted to say that we are already making plans for Valentia Isle Festival 2013. Our aim from the outset was to create a featival with an atmosphere where people can relax, enjoy good music, food and art in the stunning setting of Valentia and we are pleased to say that by the feedback from festival goers and artists over the weekend that we have achieved this and then some.”
