We’re delighted to feature You Can’t Swim, the first single from the debut EP by Dublin experimental outfit Tribal Dance.

Released today, the single (produced by Ben Bix of Meltybrains? and Sim Simma Soundsystem) sees the band return to its house party origins, springing into life with a percussive ignition and one intent in mind – to get you on your feet. Lyricist Adam Smyth explains that “…we always think our recordings are the somewhat ‘ideal’ version of our music, but when you see us live it’s a lot more raw.”

According to Tribal Dance, the lyrics (and forthcoming video) explore the contrast between unrealistic expectations and reality.

You can catch the lads when they play The Grand Social, Dublin, on May 4th, and at KnockanStockan Festival between 19th – 21st July.

Meanwhile, have a listen to You Can’t Swim for yourself…
