Our friends over at 98FM are on a massive Irish music buzz. Rightly so, the amount of talent floating around at the minute is incredible and it’s amazing just looking back over the last few years how we have progressed into a hive of great music of all varieties.
Totally Irish and 98FM want to find the next big thing (don’t we all!) and Goldenplec salutes such an effort and think it’s great that a high profile radio station would actively go out and seek this music rather than wait for a PR agency to give them the next big radio tracks. It’s pro-active and fun. So if you think you are the next big thing, here are the full details you need to be in the consideration before the closing date of Friday 30th March 2012.
Judging will be done by a penl and a shortlist of the top 5 will be selected. These five acts will be announced on Totally Irish on Sunday 8th April. Voting will open for a week and the winning band who amasses the most votes will be crowned the winner of 98FMs Brand New Act 2012. What does this lucky winner get…. Well just 2 days recording time in Windmill Lane Studios, the opportunity to play with some top names of Irish music at a special gig in The Workmans Club on Thursday 26th April, a song playlisted on 98FM and an interview on 98FM aswell.

Entry Requirements
- Bands must submit a sample of their music consisting of a maximum of 3 songs only.
- Submissions must be original.
- Submissions will be only be accepted in a physical format or by mp3.
- A written bio of the band must be included in the entry. This should not excede more than 150 words.
- This is a competition for unsigned bands only.
- Closing date for entries is Fri 30th March 2012.
- Please state clearly in your entry, whether by post or email, that you are entering the competition.
